Lucky for us, times are changing! And now, it’s easier than ever to find fantastic plant-based food in this monumental capital.
But that brings us to the dreaded question – which vegan restaurant do you go to?

Well, if you can’t go to all of them, you might as well go to the best! So here are the best 15 vegan restaurants Vienna locals are raving about!
1. Pizzi’s & Cream

- Cuisine: Vegan Pizza & Ice Cream

No matter where you are in the world, a first-class vegan pizza restaurant is a must. And Pizzi’s & Cream is one of the best vegan restaurants Vienna is known for. Whether you want something classic or you want to get adventurous with a vegan tuna pizza, this is the place to go.
Pizzi’s & Cream was opened just before the world was altered by you know what, and now that in restaurant dining is an option, it is a can’t miss on any vegan’s list of Vienna.

This all vegan pizza shop sells by the slice and by the pie. All the ingredients are top quality and mostly imported from Italy. The cheese, sauce and dough is made in-house, the latter of which takes two days to make!
This is by far the best vegan pizza I have ever had. I highly recommend the Capricciosa (cashew mozzarella, bacon, artichokes and Kalamata olives) and the Mag*c Mushroom (cashew mozzarella, mushrooms, truffle mayo and artichokes). I also recommend going with a friend or two so you have the chance to try more options.

Also, save room for dessert, because this is one of the few places where you can get vegan pizza AND vegan ice cream in the same shop. So you can get all your favorite non-dairy fixes at Pizzi’s and Cream.

Their aptly named Kraut Pleaser is an absolute must! Homemade sauerkraut on top of a vegan schnitzel – what more could you want from your Vienna experience? I also really love their nuggets, and their sauces are divine!

From simple flavors like strawberry or maple pecan to the most amazing ice cream sandwich ever – “The Inbetwiener”, this shop is top for vegan ice cream enthusiasts!
My recommendations – the poppy seed, hazelnut, and the matcha flavors. And don’t be shy, get your scoops served in a cone. You won’t regret it.

- Address: Untergrundbahn Station, Stephansplatz 1709, 1010 Vienna, Austria

Anker Brot is a franchise that Austrians love. They might not be fully vegan, but they do a fantastic job at clearly marking their many vegan options.
If you’re in Vienna, you’re sure to find an Anker close by, so you’ll never have to go without a tasty treat. In fact, in the few days I was there, I came across at least four shops without even trying. There is even one in the main train station, so be sure to stock up (like I did) before boarding.
I highly recommend any of their sweet pastries, including the snail pastry. It’s like a cinnamon roll, but has a much more delicate flavor. Devine!
