Magma Bakery

As someone who literally followed her nose once to find a croissant-selling bakery in Paris, Magma Bakery Lab is a dream come true.

If you’re on the hunt for vegan croissants, pain au chocolate, danish, cookies, cakes, or cream-filled brioche, then Magma is an absolute must visit vegan cafe in Barcelona.

Pecan Croissant from Magma Bakery Lab - Vegan Bakery in Barcelona

Located in the Poblenou neighborhood, Magma is a light soaked, dog-friendly, cafe with welcoming staff and tasty breakfast and brunch delights. My top favorite options are the vegan tiramisu croissant, pecan and cream croissant, and the cinnamon roll. The later of which they’ll warm up for you, so you’re assured an uber cozy morning treat.

In addition to sweets, Magma also has a savory brunch menu that includes croissant sandwiches, open-faced toasts, and grilled sandwiches. Pair anything with one of their high-quality coffees and you’re day’s off to a great start.

Areca Bakery is a completely vegan bakery in Barcelona that’s on a mission to revolutionize donuts with their vegan, sustainable, and low sugar options.

Healthyish donuts? Sounds impossible, right? Actually, their donuts are baked first, then lightly fried to keep the calorie count lower. These donuts are delightful regardless of how they’re made.

Hot Tip: Their pistachio cream or vegan Nutella doughnuts are an absolute must! Every single bite is a reminder that vegan sweets are absolutely scrumptious.

The Vegan Corner

The Vegan Corner is a cozy little cafe on the corner of a small street in the exceptionally beautiful Gothic Quarter. It’s also one of my favorite vegan restaurants in Barcelona.

In addition to yummy vegan Spanish tortillas, sandwiches, and quiches, they also have a big selection of vegan sweets. In fact, when I was living nearby for a month recently, I went to The Vegan Corner nearly every morning for my donut and coffee fix.

Aside from donuts, they also have croissants, cakes, cookies, sweet empanadas, pastries, churros, and muffins. Pair any of their delicious sweets with a coffee for an excellent afternoon treat or a sugar-filled breakfast.

botànic

Cinnamon rolls, cookies, cakes, pancakes, french toast and more are all up for grabs here. I’m pretty sure the selection varies depending on when you visit, but it seems like the cinnamon rolls are always available and definitely a great choice!

So stop by in the afternoon for a sweet pick-me-up, or if you go for brunch plan strategically. Get something savory, like the polenta with mushrooms, then polish the meal off with one of their exceptional sweets.
