Morgentau. - Barcelona Vegan Restaurant Review 2025

- Cuisine: Vegan, Whole Foods
- Neighborhood: Poblenou
- Price: €€
- Vegan Status: Totally Vegan
- My Favorite Dish: Tofu Scramble Bowl
Morgentau is a lovely vegan brunch restaurant in Barcelona's Poblenou neighborhood. They utilize locally sourced and fair trade products and offer healthy, whole foods forward vegan dishes.
In addition to their brunch menu, they also offer a menu del dia on the week days that comes with a starter, main, and dessert or coffee.
Morgentau, which means "morning dew" in German, has an incredibly cozy vibe. The decor is a mix of warm colors, oversized lush plants, modern yet cozy furniture, and loads of natural light.

What to Get at Moregentau

My favorites at Morgentau include the tofu scramble bowl and the BLT muffin with fried sweet potatoes. They also offer pancakes, waffles, french toast, "salmon" bagel, granola, and a full English breakfast.
If you're famished I'd suggest the tofu scramble bowl. It's guaranteed to have you feeling full and satisfied for hours. The dish is well seasoned and the salad comes tossed in a delicious and fresh dressing. The bread seems freshly baked and completes the dish. You can also substitute the bread for potatoes if that's more your thing.

If you're looking for something on the lighter side, opt for the BLT muffin or the salmon bagel. Both are on the lighter side but also delicious.
Unfortunately, I've never had any of the sweet dishes, although I've seen them being served and they look incredible.
Other Items of Interest at Morgentau
In addition to the brunch at Morgentau, it's also worth visting on the week days for their menu del dia. It's three courses and includes water. At 16.50Euros, last I checked, it's a great option.
On top of everything else, Morgentau has several delicious fresh fruit juices on the menu, quality espresso based coffee, and a small pasty case at the counter with some nice whole grain croissants and banana bread.
The Downside of Morgentau
I really like to keep these reviews real and mention any downsides I see at restaurants. However, I honestly don't have much to say here.
I guess the carrot salmon on the bagel could be a bit more vinegary/fishy tasting, or it could come with a side like fries or potatoes to make it more filling. Or maybe they could offer a sweet and savory combo dish since I always talk myself out of the sweet options, but I think that ask is a bit ridiculous.
Overall, everything is really top notch at Morgentau.
Final Thoughts on Morgentau
The service is super friendly, the atmosphere is relaxed and cozy, the food is healthy and delicious. So, what more could you want from a lovely local vegan brunch spot in Barcelona? I can't think of anything more.
