Vegan Christmas in Prague 2021 – Vegan Vánoce Goodies & Shopping!

If you’re starting to prepare for a vegan Vánoce in Prague then you’re going to love this little guide.

A vegan Christmas in Prague is something I never fully experienced. I usually travel at Christmas time, and the times when I was here, I didn’t really celebrate.

However, on the few occasions that I had actually been in Prague for Christmas I watched as my non-vegan friends snack on Vanilkové rohlíčky and Linecké cukroví (traditional Czech Christmas cookies) in front of me. I’ve felt hunger pangs as others have slathered Vánočka in butter and enjoyed it with their morning coffee in front of me.

I decided last year would be different!

Last year, I stayed in Prague. Last year, I baked Vánočka, and ordered and ate a whole bunch of veganized Czech Christmas cookies. Last year, I feasted.

Czech Vegan Gingerbread Cookies

I want you to also experience the joy I did last year.

So, I’ve started researching all the vegan Christmas items that will be offered from local and international companies in Prague. I’ve made it my mission to see that no other vegans in Prague should have to look sadly at non-vegan Christmas treats!

Thus, this vegan guide to Christmas in Prague was born.

Vegan Vánoce Treats for a Vegan Christmas in Prague – 2021

Vegan Christmas in Prague Sweets and cookies

This guide includes all the restaurants selling vegan Czech cookies, bread, not-eggnog, and other Christmas treats.

I’ll be updating this guide as we get closer to Christmas and as I learn about more Vegan Vánoce options. Also, if you hear of anything, let me know in the comments below so I can add it!

Oh…don’t forget to check out my other vegan guides to Prague and the Czech Republic here!

If you want to see some of the yummy treats I had last year, check out the video below.

Without further ado, here are some of the places you can order veganized Czech Christmas cookies, breads, groceries, and gifts in Prague!

Vegan Vánoce Market, Vegan Groceries & Vegan Gift Shopping in Prague

Vegan Vánoce Grocery & Gift Shopping In Prague

Here are a few options for vegan groceries and gifts in Prague!

Veggie Vánoce – Annual Vegan Christmas Market in Prague

Unfortunately, the incredibly popular Veggie Vánoce vegan Christmas market in Prague did not take place last year (in person – there was an online event). My fingers are crossed it will take place in 2021.

I’ll update this article as soon as I find out what’s going on.

Also, if you want to see what Veggie Vánoce was like in 2019 check out the above video.

Marks & Spencer – Plant Kitchen – Vegan holiday items

British brand Marks & Spencer has a whole range of vegan items called Plant Kitchen. As you know, if you live in Prague, M&S stopped stocking most of their fresh/refrigerated food items.

However, I’ve already seen vegan pigs in a blanket, and vegan chicken kiev in the frozen section. They also already have their Christmas pudding with rum and sherry, which is vegan, on the shelf.

Puro Shop – Vegan Grocery Store in Prague

PURO Shop is my go-to vegan grocery store here in Prague. If you need vegan groceries and specialty items for your Christmas cooking then this is your best bet. They have a huge selection of vegan cheeses, meats, sweets, ice creams, and chocolates. They even have some Christmas specialty items.

Do check them out if you’re planning for the holidays! Plus, if things get crazy and you’re short on time, you can order from their website for home delivery.

Also, take a look at the above video to see inside the shop.

EtikButik – All Vegan Shop in Prague

If you’re looking for a vegan Christmas gift for a loved one, EtikButik is the best option. This all vegan shop in Prague, by Náplavka, has loads to offer, including vegan shoes, clothing, coats, accessories, cosmetics, and zero waste lifestyle products.

Also, if you want to see inside the shop, check out the above video!

More Vegan Vánoce Options?

If you know about other vegan Christmas options in Prague, or you’re a vegan business owner and have something to offer let me know! Please leave a comment below or email me (randi[at]veggievisa[dot]com) with details so I can add it to this article!

I wish you all a very merry Christmas (or whatever holiday you might be celebrating during this time)!

Saturday 27th of November 2021

Hi Randi! Thank you so much for all these great spots to visit. We've been spending quite some time on Veggie Visa these days, planning for our trip :)

We'll be visiting Prague right after Christmas and will be there for New Year's eve. I was just wondering if there are any good places you could recommend for a nice New Year's Eve dinner.

Thanks so much!

Hi Michael & Asia, I'm so happy to hear that :D :D I don't think I've ever gone out for dinner here for NYE, but you might try Pastva or Palo Verde. Those two are probably your best bet for a nicer dinner. And check their social media pages as they may plan something special (too early to know now). :D I hope you both have a wonderful time here!
