Vegan Christmas in Prague – Vegan Vánoce Goodies & Shopping!

If you’re starting to prepare for a vegan Vánoce in Prague then you’re going to love this little guide.

A vegan Christmas in Prague is something I’ve never really experienced. I usually travel at Christmas time. However, on the few occasions that I’ve actually been in Prague I’ve had to watch as my non-vegan friends snack on Vanilkové rohlíčky and Linecké cukroví (traditional Czech Christmas cookies) in front of me. I’ve felt hunger pangs as others have slathered Vánočka in butter and enjoyed it with their morning coffee in front of me.

This year will be different! This year, I’m staying in Prague and will be stocking up on Czech vegan Christmas goodies and treats.

Czech Vegan Gingerbread Cookies

I’ve started researching all the vegan Christmas items that will be offered from local and international companies in Prague. So, I decided to make it my mission that no other vegan in Prague should have to look sadly at non-vegan Christmas treats this year! Thus, this vegan guide to Christmas in Prague was born.

I’ll be updating this guide as we get closer to Christmas and I learn about more Vegan Vánoce options. Also, if you hear of anything, let me know in the comments below so I can add it!

Oh…don’t forget to check out my other vegan guides to Prague and the Czech Republic here!

Vegan Vánoce Market, Vegan Groceries & Vegan Gift Shopping in Prague

Vegan Vánoce Grocery & Gift Shopping In Prague

Here are a few options for vegan groceries and gifts in Prague!

Veggie Vánoce – Annual Vegan Christmas Market in Prague

Unfortunately, the incredibly popular Veggie Vánoce vegan Christmas market in Prague will not be taking place this year. Well, not in person anyway.

The market will still go ahead, but it will take place online instead. What does that mean? Well, on the three Sundays leading up to Christmas (6, 13, 20 December) an online marketplace will open. So, you will be able to support your local ethical businesses, which we all know is crucial in 2020.

There will be time-limited offers and discount codes as well as other events. For more information check out the event on Facebook or their website to see what businesses will be involved.

Also, if you want to see what Veggie Vánoce was like in 2019 check out the above video.

Marks & Spencer – Plant Kitchen – Vegan holiday items

British brand Marks & Spencer has a whole range of vegan items called Plant Kitchen. A week ago I noticed that they had a few new holiday related vegan items on Rohlik which included a Butternut, Almond & Pecan Nut Roast, and some vegan pigs in a blanket. Also, it looks like their Christmas pudding with rum and sherry is vegan and offered on Rohlik.

I plan to visit a M&S food hall here in Prague soon to see if there are any other vegan Christmas goodies on offer. So, I’ll let you know what I find!

Also, If you want to take a look at some of the Plant Kitchen options I’ve tried (not holiday related) check them out in the below video.

PURO Shop is my go-to vegan grocery store here in Prague. If you need vegan groceries and specialty items for your Christmas cooking then this is your best bet. They have a huge selection of vegan cheeses, meats, sweets, ice creams, and chocolates. They even have some Christmas specialty items.

Do check them out if you’re planning for the holidays! Plus, if things get crazy and you’re short on time, you can order from their website for home delivery.
